Dolly's Kitchen Pricing Guide
Here’s the breakdown of how I price my cakes. I start with a base price which covers the cost of ingredients, materials used like cake board, cake box, sprinkles, fondant, gold leaf, ect. The base price also covers the amount of time it takes to bake the cake from scratch and apply a crumb coat of homemade buttercream. Once the cake has been frosted, I charge for the amount of time it takes to decorate. Cakes can range anywhere from an hour to decorate to multiple hours of decorating time over several days of work. Not to mention, the cleanup time after a design heavy cake is enormous and also factors into base pricing.
***Please note, on average, a single tier cake takes 3 hours to make (not including baking time) for a basic cake with a single layer of frosting. If there’s any fondant work involved, add on at minimum, an additional hour of time (for one fondant figure/character). My two tier cakes on average take 6-10 hours (or longer) to make. I cannot compete with grocery store pricing. My cakes use real ingredients and everything is homemade. They are night and day in quality, flavor and design compared to store bought cakes. I pride myself in my attention to detail and make sure everything is just right for you. And I really think the extra care and love I put into each of my cakes shows through in the final product.

Base Pricing:
4” cakes start at $55 (smash cake size)
5” cakes start at $75 (smash cake size)
6” cakes start at $100 (smash cake size)
***Smash cakes must be purchased with a party cake***
7” cakes start at $125
8” cakes start at $135
9” cakes start at $150
2 tier cakes (6"/8") start at $250 (30 servings)
2 tier cakes (6"/9") start $275 (42 servings)
2 tier cakes (7"/9") start at $300 (46 servings)
***Decorating time for themed cakes is priced out separately and will be added to the base price shown above***
2 tier mini cakes start at $200 (4"/6") (20 servings)
3 tier cakes start at $350
1/2 sheet cakes start at $100
Full sheet cakes available upon request and pricing varies for serving size.
Cupcakes come in 24 (2 dozen increments) and a basic piping design is $2.00 per cupcake. For specialty themed cupcakes, expect anywhere from $2.25 to $5 depending on the design.
***Please note, there is a $5 up charge for multiple flavors on half orders. It takes more time to create the additional flavors and extra work involved. Example: For an order of 24 cupcakes, this would apply for two flavors. OR multiple flavors in cakes.
Swiss Merengue Buttercream is available upon request. $5 up-charge
*** Swiss merengue buttercream is a very involved process that takes 30min to make. It also uses half a carton of eggs for a single batch. Larger cakes 8” and 9” rounds take two batches. For larger cakes, I recommend using American buttercream on the inside of the cake and using Swiss merengue only in the outside for super smooth look.
Any fillings like custard, curd, ganache, caramel, Bavarian cream, marshmallow fluff and fruit fillings is a $5 up-charge (cost of ingredients + the extra time to make)
Crunch/Candy Add ons: This is a great way to elevate cakes and add extra flavor
Peppermint, cookie crunch (Oreo, chocolate chip, ect), toasted almond crunch, candy crumbles (Reese, Heath Bar, ect) and cookie dough. $5 up-charge
Custom cake toppers including "Happy Birthday" signs start at $5 and can range to $25 depending on the intricacy of the topper.
Fondant Work is charged per item OR for the amount of time it takes to make each piece if there's several pieces involved. Fondant work can range anywhere from an hour to make to multiple hours for really detailed pieces. Also, no fondant covered cakes please! I can achieve the same smooth look with buttercream...and it tastes better! For smaller fondant covered cakes, I might make an exception... Contact me so we can settle on a design plan you'll love!

Bonnie has done two cakes for me both of which surpassed my expectations! With quality comes a price tag. However, Bonnie seems to create more delicious and creative cakes at a lower price that other high end bakeries that I've been to. Honestly, there's no match for what she can do, I don't go anywhere else!
